Whittling a Butterknife Saturday 5th September 2020 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Try out different types of whittling knives and chisels. Make your own butter spreader or cheese knife which you can take home after using for your campfire afternoon tea.

You can choose to follow one of our instruction sheets or design your own butter spreader or cheese knife then whittle away in the peace and quiet of the woods. Our experienced tutors are on hand to keep the campfire burning and help you when needed. When you’ve finished your project, there’ll be the chance to see your creation in action and use it for a campfire snack of toasted crumpets (lathered with melted organic butter!) and a cuppa with your fellow whittlers.

Refreshments and materials are included in the price. We cater for all dietary requirements but we do need to know in advance so we can ensure we are prepared.

These specialist workshops are open to adults and children 10 and over. If your children are younger and you want to have a go at using tools and cooking on the fire, you might like to join our family sessions instead.

Venue: Our woodland is a 10 minute walk from the carpark along a bumpy bridleway. Unfortunately, as yet, our venue isn’t suitable for wheelchairs.

If for any reason the course doesn’t go ahead on the stated date, you can simply book onto another course or we’ll give you a gift voucher equal to the value of the amount you paid.
